Food Shood Quote

Homemade Rava Cerelac By Rukmini Natti

Rukmini is an IT professional and mom to 6 year old Jeevan. Rukmini is a gifted cook who can prepare meals for masses and that too deliciously. Her cooking skills are on the level where she can transform a bad half prepared ugly looking dish to a sumptuous and mouthwatering delicacy. She is a big advocate of homemade food for kids too. Most of the snacks and savoury are made by her at home. It is a very hard work but she is all game for putting in that amount of energy and time. Her homemade recipe of rava cerelac is healthy for infants and easy for parents to prepare as well. It needs some basic home ingredients which are found in any Indian household all the time.

Recipe

  1. Take 1 cup wheat rava, 1 cup ground nuts, 1 cup fried chana (putnalau), and 1 cup mishri.

  2. Take a pan and roast all the ingredients separately except mishri.

  3. Take a big plate and let it cool.

  4. Once it cools, grind it together in a mixer until you get the desired consistency of the powder.

  5. Empty the grinder and store the powder in container.

  6. Whenever required to make, boil 1 glass of water and add this powder and keep stirring to avoid any lump in the food.

  7. Serve in a bowl and feed the baby when the food is warm.

Food Shood Tip: In order to make cottage cheese or sour cream last longer, place the container upside down in the fridge. Inverting the tub creates a vacuum that inhibits the growth of bacteria that causes food to spoil.

Semolina/Suji Ka Sheera by Charu Verma

Charu is a teacher and mother to Tancia. Her cookery skill is not great but she makes whatever she makes, it tastes great. She cooks some deliciously delectable sweet dishes especially Indian. Charu's involvement as a parent is quite inspiring for other mothers. She made a conscious choice to switch from a regular corporate job to a teaching profession. Her daughter's interest in reading and telling stories is all because she has invested a lot of time in her when Tancia was still a toddler. She is particular about Tancia's after school activities and engagements. She admits about her average cooking skill and her family is also comfortable about it.
