Today is October 16, 2018. This might not be a national holiday but for all the Bollywood lovers and kids grown up in 90's, this day is special. Exactly 20 years before an iconic film was released today which introduced Karan Johar as director and a beautiful love triangle between three friends. The story was full of flaws with SRK being the most selfish boy ever as Rahul who kept saying in the whole film "Hum ek hi baar pyaar karte hai aur shadi bhi ek hi baar hoti hai" and still loved and married twice and as an audience we ignored it completely.
The film became such a huge hit despite of so many flaws because it was so written with lot of conviction, says Karan Johar. So telling some amazing behind the scene facts about the film.
Shabana Azmi found the film ridiculous and told Karan after watching it "What is this, when she was not beautiful, love didn't happened, but the moment she turned beautiful, wore sari, grew long hair, love happened?"

The tune for "Tum Paas Aaye" was created by actor Jugal Hansraj in the shower. The actor got married to Jasmine in US in 2014.

Remember that iconic polo t-shirt SRK wore in "Koi Mil Gaya" song was for £75 (INR 8000) and he found it very uncomfortable wearing that cloth because it was too tight.

Johar initially initially found the line "Main toh hil gaya" very downmarket and did not want to include it in the song "Koi Mil Gaya" but he later agreed to it.

Both Rahul (SRK) and Anjali (Kajol) used trampolines to jump for the basketball scenes. Now you know how both of them jumped so high in film.

The art director, Sharmishta Roy, took the inspiration for the college sets from famous TV series like Beverly Hills, 90210, and Archie Comics for the film.
SRK said that he was way too embarrassed to wear his costumes in the film as they were too tight.

During the filming of the song "Saajanji Ghar Aaye", both Salman and Kajol were not on talking terms.

Designer Manish Malhotra, director Farah Khan, choreographer Geeta Kapoor, director Nikhil Advani, and Hiroo Johar apperared in different shots of the film.

Twinkle Khanna was the original choice for the role played by Rani Mukherji. Both Karan and Twinkle are great friends and Karan named the character, Tina because of Twinkle only. The role was even offered to Kajol but she also rejected.

Rani was suggested by the role by SRK and Aditya Chopra after Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat.
